Marc Anthony Celebrates Birthday in Miami

Marc Anthony has a long history with Miami. From the days when he performed his freestyle music tracks at nightclubs in Hialeah, to his movie part in "The Substitute", which starred Tom Beringer and filmed at Miami High, and his with two marriages to Dayanara Torres and Jennifer Lopez.

The weeklong celebration of Marc's 43rd birthday began on Monday at the Miami Dolphins game, where he is a part owner and was joined by friend's Will Smith and Fergie.

On Friday and Saturday, the superstar of salsa, sold out both nights at the American Airlines Arena. The sold out crowd on both nights sang Happy Birthday, which brought Anthony to his knees, kissing the floor and shedding a tear of emotion and gratitude.

After the concert on Friday night, he celebrated a more intimate gathering at the Viceroy with about 150 guest that included baseball slugger Sammy Sosa.

Yesterday Superstar royalty singers Marco Antonio Solis and Ana Gabriel announced summer tour, Haciendo Historia, which begins at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento on June 10th.

The announcement taken place at the W South Beach hotel, both stars have toured before, but this time they promise more surprises and duets.

"We will be doing something a bit difference" Marco Antonio Solis explains, "We will come out singing together from the beginning of the show, and sing together throughout".

Tito El Bambino at the Florida Marlins game

Tito El Bambino along with duo Zion and Lennox had the duties of throwing out the first pitch at the Florida Marlins/Houston Astros game at Sun Life stadium in Miami.

The night ended with a concert by the stars on a rainy night in the 305. Some fans did complain that Tito El Bambino did not come out to sign autographs as planned. Fans were left hanging there, while Zion and Lennox saved the opp, by signing. Nice job!!!

Tito will also be part of the anticipated music fest, Festival Presidente, in the Dominican Republic next weekend.

PREMIOS JUVENTUD 2010: How we saw it!!

We are not big on this tejano, banda music...gotta be straight about this. The nights performances were ok, but Univision really did amazing with the stage and the futuristic theme. The virtual acceptance from Chayanne we're really cool, but not to thrill with the sombrero wearing robots.

Year after year, we say that Premios Juventud are that, juventud. Although I like the fact that they honor some of the greats, like this year's honoree, Juan Luis Guerra. In some of the categories it was obvious, if you were in attendance, you were getting the award.

Univision tries to make fun and jovial, a-la Nickolodian, and many instances it misses that factor. Not sure if this type of award show really belongs on the big "Abuelita watching novelas" Univision network. Telefutura is more adapt for this show. Despite the "Abuelita" factor, we did enjoy the fact that new "It boy" William Levy came with his grandmother as his date and that Juan Luis Guerra recieved his award from his niece and former Miss Universe, Amelia Vega.

Performance wise we thought most they were pretty good. Belinda featuring Pitbull performance of a really annoying "Egoista" song is on its way to be one of the worst songs. Actually a little shocking that Pitbull would of done such a song when he's NOT an "Egoista". Pitbull's long set performance on the other hand showed that the Miami Cuban rapper can get the party started.

Fashion sense and shock value was in full effect on the Blue carpet, despite TV announcers confusing themselves and kept saying the red carpet. Why blue carpet anyways? To be different or because it matched the color scheme of Orbit's, one of the show's sponsors. William Levy, Pitbull with his nut hugger white pants and Wilmer Valderama looked good and for the women Anahi, Shakira, Jacqueline Bracamontes looked amazing and beautiful. Why, why and more why would they wear this is to shock and gossip. Niurka Marcos and Eduardo Antonio brought their freak show last night, while singer Fredo stopped by a garage sale.

Winsin y Yandel won for best concert, and we couldn't agree more. They have an amazing show, which has made a ton of money this year and we hear the duo is taking the show to Brazil in September. That should be interesting.

One of our favorite performances of the night was Marta Sanchez and Carlos Baute singing their hit single Colgando en Tus Manos. We loved the fact the audience knew every word.

Ex alum of RBD, Dulce Maria couldn't be more obvious that she was lip-synching a la Britney, with no stage performance, and might not be able to handle it without her RBD counterparts. Her "Sex in the City" ruffled dress we liked and was the only positive thing we could say and kind of disappointed that Univision used her to close the show, to what so far was a pretty good production.

Enrique Iglesias is Euphoric for Spain in World Cup final

Enrique Iglesias celebrated the release of his long awaited CD, Euphoria in Los Angeles. Friend's that came by to support included, Christian de la Fuentes and Dayanara Torres.

On the CD, Enrique does collaborations with Juan Luis Guerra, Aventura, and Pitbull. Enrique is on full promotion mode with upcoming appearances on The Today Show and Premios Juventud.

As for his Spain being in the finals of the World Cup, "If they win, I will run naked..." Ha Ha pretty funny and get your birthday suit ready because SPAIN will win.

Our Sofia Vergara was nominated this morning for her first EMMY award for Outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series in the ABC TV sitcom Modern Family, which also got a nod for Best sitcom series.

This year's Emmy telecast will take place on August 29 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon as host and will broadcast live on NBC.

Jennifer Lopez and her sister Lynda, launched a charity, The Maribel Foundation. The foundation was named after Marc Anthony's sister who died of a brain tumor.

It's a unique mission to allow medical specialist in Los Angeles treat children around the globe via telecommunication technology, a program called Telemedicine.

“This technology allows specialists from anywhere in the world, so long as they have this technology in the clinic set-up, to connect to remote areas of the world that have one of these machines. Marc Anthony, 41, returns to the small screen. He'll guest star on two episodes of the TNT drama series, Hawthorne, playing a police officer named Nick Renata. Marc has even a love interest in his upcoming guest spots with Jada Pinkett Smith who plays Christina Hawthorne in the series.

Pinkett Smith, who is also executive producer of the show, says about Marc, “Marc came on for two episodes and ripped it. That was a real blessing to have him for those two shows. We did a really interesting episode together.”

In 2006, Joan lost another son, Trigo Figueroa, the same way. Earlier this year, Joan lost a best friend, considered like brother, murdered.

Decoration of tables in the East Room were decorated in natural shades of orange and green with the centerpiece featuring a bouquet of marzipan and chocolate flowers.

Entertainment for the evening on the South Lawn was provided by Beyonce along with Mexican rhythmic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Other invited guest included: Whoopi Goldberg, New York Jets players Mark Sanchez and D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Olympic speed skater Shani Davis, Goya Foods president Robert Unanue, Univision anchors Maria Elena Durazo and Jorge Ramos.

Many politician's attended and too many to mention. Florida Republican Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart and Lincoln Diaz-Balart didn’t get an invite, but their television anchor brother José Diaz-Balart with the Telemundo network did.

Last night Puerto Rico took out all of its bells and whistle for the 2010 Billboard Latin awards including the first appearance since his disclosure, Ricky Martin welcomed everyone to his homeland.

Among the big winners Aventura won nine awards, Tito El Bambino with seven, Luis Fonsi with four and Wisin and Yandel with three.

Marc Anthony received the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his philanthropic efforts. La JLO didn't make to Puerto Rico since she is on promotion mode in Europe with her latest movie The Back Up Plan.

We weren't crazy on the red carpet tv production as the lighting was horrible. What was more horrible was a full tattooed AB Quintanilla, who showed up in ripped jeans, and a hoodie. He should of had a little more respect for Latin music most prestigioust award ceremony.

Despite some critics on TV, we loved Paulina Rubio, not only with her duet with Wycliff Jean, but for wearing her mother's black, vintage, Chanel dress.

We enjoyed the musical content of the show including the performances by Pitbull in his black tux, which he liked better than his red carpet selection of a pink shirt, jeans and white jacket. Come on people, this is Latin music's biggest night and not the Teen Choice awards.

Classic performances by the greats like Marco Antonio Solis, whose had the same hair for the last 20 years, Juan Luis Guerra just amazing, Gilberto Santa Rosa, a classic salsero, and Chayanne surrounded by beautiful dancers, just like he likes it.

Tito El Bambino has had an amazing year. He won seven awards last night, including hot Latin song male artist of the year and for his hit single "El Amor", hot Latin song and Latin digital download of the year.

Emilio and Gloria Estefan's holding a little get together tonight at their home on Star Island on Miami Beach for President Barack Obama.

The fundraiser for the Democratic party is not cheap to attend and has a price tag of $34,000 per couple and limited to only 100 people.

Well the theme is Asian and the menu consist of filtered and unfiltered sake, lots of sushi, like Hamachi Chimichurri Maki, spicy scallop, crab maki with midori vegetable maki, South Beach lobster maki and lobster cebiche. And last but not least to have some Cuban in it a ropa vieja (shredded beef) maki.

In the early 90's, a Tejana singer took the music scene in Mexico and the U.S. by storm. Selena conquered audiences in both countries -- and numerous others -- with her charisma, voice, and musical talent.

After her tragic death, millions of admirers wanted to know more about this great artist. Cristina Castrellon, who maintained a very close relationship with the singer, has written "Selena: Su vida despues de su muerte" to present the intimate details of the entertainer's life. She also collaborated with a well-known psychic to interpret the messages that Selena sent to her loved ones and fans after her death.

While working as the publicity director of Representaciones Artisticas Apodaca in Mexico, Cristina first encountered Selena. Among the artists that Apodaca managed in 1992 were Bronco, Los Mier, and Los Baron. That same year, Apodaca received two cassettes, one of them contained the music of Selena and the Dinos. Ricky's Full Message

A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And thisis something worth celebrating.

For many years, there has been only one place where I am in touch with my emotions fearlessly and that's the stage. Being on stage fills my soul in many ways, almost completely. It's my vice. The music, the lights and the roar of the audience are elements that make me feel capable of anything. This rush of adrenaline is incredibly addictive. I don't ever want to stop feeling these emotions. But it is serenity that brings me to where I'm at right now. An amazing emotional place of comprehension, reflection and enlightenment. At this moment I'm feeling the same freedom I usually feel only on stage, without a doubt, I need to share.

Many people told me: "Ricky it's not important", "it's not worth it", "all the years you've worked and everything you've built will collapse", "many people in the world are not ready to accept your truth, your reality, your nature". Because all this advice came from people who I love dearly, I decided to move on with my life not sharing with the world my entire truth. Allowing myself to be seduced by fear and insecurity became a self-fulfilling prophecy of sabotage. Today I take full responsibility for my decisions and my actions.

If someone asked me today, "Ricky, what are you afraid of?" I would answer "the blood that runs through the streets of countries at war...child slavery, terrorism...the cynicism of some people in positions of power, the misinterpretation of faith." But fear of my truth? Not at all! On the contrary, It fills me with strength and courage. This is just what I need especially now that I am the father of two beautiful boys that are so full of light and who with their outlook teach me new things every day. To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where born with. Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen 5 or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment.

These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn't even know existed.

What will happen from now on? It doesn't matter. I can only focus on what's happening to me in this moment. The word "happiness" takes on a new meaning for me as of today. It has been a very intense process. Every word that I write in this letter is born out of love, acceptance, detachment and real contentment. Writing this is a solid step towards my inner peace and vital part of my evolution.

I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.
