Just when so much criticism overshadows the reason it was built, the Carnival Center of the Performing Arts in Miami celebrated its first year anniversary with new opera darling, Juan Diego Floréz. Definately Juan Diego is filling the void of the recent death of opera superstar Luciano Pavarotti, and very encouraging to have someone young that could continue the torch for generations to come. Let's give Juan Diego some credit, he's Latino, has performed in major forums throughout the world including La Scala opera house where the public's ecstatic applause forced to break a 70-year-old taboo and allow him to give an encore of an acclaimed aria. This 36 year old even has his own official stamp in his native Peru. Very Refreshing!
