Padre Alberto: "People confuse sex with love"

Padre Alberto spoke with Teresa Rodriguez last night's edition of "Aqui y Ahora", where he had some interesting statements. Among them that he's only been intimate with Ruhama in his 22 year career as a priest.

"We were friend's for a while and it became more in recent years" Padre Alberto explains, "I will take a break to reflect, pray, and see what I will do...I love this women...This is a transition".

Meanwhile, American tv is covering the issue of celibicy, which Padre Alberto has become the poster child for, or as he says "I'm the rebel priest". Good Morning America had a full discussion with its host with Diane Sawyer saying, "Its time for the church let priest get married".

WHO SAID UNIVISION HAD EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW? Father Alberto Cutié spoke to fellow Miamian host of the CBS The Early Show, Maggie Rodriguez about the scandal that has rocked the Latin entertainment scene and Catholic church on Monday's show.

“I don't want to be the anticelibacy priest,” he says. “I think it's a debate that's going on in our society, and now I've become kind of a poster boy for it. But I don't want to be that. In my case it was something I struggled with for a long time in confession. And something that I never expected to become a public debate."

Despite his relationship, in 22 years of priesthood this is the first time he's had sexual relationship. He's in love and not sure yet what's in the future with his relationship with Ruhama Canellis.

So who is the woman in the center of the biggest scandal so far of 2009? Her name is Ruhama Canellis.

According to recent reports and sources she is 35 years old, is of Greek and Guatemalan descent, was a producer at the Telemundo network, and that she is divorced.

We support Padre Alberto, but we are not 100% sure if this wasn't a set up and that the only one that got paid was the photographer. If the images were sold for $100,000 we believe TV Notas got a great deal because of all the publicity the magazine received.

On another note, we also got word that Padre Alberto was at a music showcase party at South Beach hotspot Santos during Billboard Latin week. Along with Scarface actor Steven Bauer, Padre Alberto, they were all hanging out at a table with TV Notas staff and owners. Deals cookin' and sometimes things don't look at what they're suppose to be.

In all respect, we still support Padre Alberto for being a vital part of the South Florida community, despite his failure and fall from grace. We're sure he'll be back stronger than ever!!!

Scandal rocks Miami and the Catholic church

Padre Alberto, well now just Alberto Cutie, has been expelled from his duties with the Archdiocese of Miami and Paz communication, because he broke the law of the CHURCHHHHH!!!

We believe in commitment, if it's a marriage, to arm force duty, and even in religion. Sometimes traditions have to evolve to modern times. Padre Alberto did his duty with the risk of temptations of South Beach, where people come to party, nightlife, and of course, sex. Padre Alberto is a young, good looking guy with a celebrity status with a TV show, radio show, syndicated columns, and authored many self help books.

He cheated the church of his commitment and vows, but he is human and we live in a country of forgiveness. Padre Alberto is a great man and he'll come out stronger than ever from this, and maybe even to start the process of conversation on the subject.
