Glamorous State Dinner for Mexican President at the White House
The White House had its second State dinner last night, this time for Mexican President Felipe Calderon. President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama hosted prominent Latino celebrities and personalities including the world's richest man, Mexican mogul Carlos Slim, Desperate Housewive's Eva Longoria and comedian George Lopez.
The MENU included:
Jicama with Oranges, Grapefruit, and Pineapple
Citrus Vinaigrette
Ulises Valdez Chardonnay 2007 "Russian River"
Herb Green Ceviche of Hawaiian Opah
Sesame-Cilantro Cracker
Oregon Wagyu Beef in Oaxacan Black Mole
Black Bean Tamalon and Grilled Green Beans
Herrera Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 "Selección Rebecca"
Chocolate-Cajeta Tart
Toasted Homemade Marshmallows
Graham Cracker Crumble and Goat Cheese Ice Cream
Mumm Napa "Carlos Santana Brut" N/V
Celebrity chef Rick Bayless and White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford used herbs, radishes and lettuce from the White House kitchen garden. Interesting note that guests ate from the china donated to the White House by former president Bill Clinton, and use the 1955 porcelain from former president Dwight Eisenhower.
Decoration of tables in the East Room were decorated in natural shades of orange and green with the centerpiece featuring a bouquet of marzipan and chocolate flowers.
Entertainment for the evening on the South Lawn was provided by Beyonce along with Mexican rhythmic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Other invited guest included: Whoopi Goldberg, New York Jets players Mark Sanchez and D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Olympic speed skater Shani Davis, Goya Foods president Robert Unanue, Univision anchors Maria Elena Durazo and Jorge Ramos.
Many politician's attended and too many to mention. Florida Republican Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart and Lincoln Diaz-Balart didn’t get an invite, but their television anchor brother José Diaz-Balart with the Telemundo network did.

Ana Gabriel speaks her mind about the President of Mexico

According to Escandalo TV during an interview after a concert in New Jersy, Ana Gabriel is very upset with the situation in Mexico as well as its President Felipe Calderón.
"I think President Calderón should resign from office", Ana Gabriel speaks out "he's not doing his job with the violence in our country."
