Univision is King!!!!


Univision #4 Network in Primetime for Entire February Sweep Beating CBS and CW among All Adults 18-34
With one day to go in this all important February sweep period, Univision ranks as the #4 broadcast network in primetime beating CBS and CW among Adults 18-34. It also ranked as the #1 network on three nights, and outdelivered ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on 25 out of 27 nights, or 93% of the sweep period for the same demo, and 10 out of 27 nights, or 37% of the time among Adults 18-49.

According to the Nielsen Television Index (NTI), Univision has also once again ranked as the 5th broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-49, that’s for all viewers, not just Hispanic -- beating the other broadcast and cable networks to get there.


In addition, Univision had the youngest median age (tied with Azteca America) among all broadcast networks in primetime:

Univision’s powerhouse primetime lineup of blockbuster novelas, evening talk, investigative newsmagazine, sports and musical specials was instrumental in cementing its position amongst the Big 5 broadcast networks.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

-- The extraordinary popularity of its 8pm novela “Al Diablo con los Guapos” (Down with the Beautiful) helped Univision rank as the country’s #2 network beating ABC, CBS, NBC and CW for the Monday-Friday 8 p.m.-9 p.m. time period among Adults 18-34 (1.7 million), Teens 12-17 (392,000) and Kids 2-11 (871,000).

-- All five weeknight editions of “Al Diablo con los Guapos” ranked among the Top 25 regularly scheduled programs among ALL Adults 18-34 during the February sweep and beat such English-language programs as:

- ABC’s “Supernanny,” “Eli Stone,” “Lost,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Dance War,” “Wife Swap” and “Cashmere Mafia”
- CBS’s “Two and a Half Men,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “CSI,” “Big Brother,” “Jericho,” “Welcome to the Captain,” and “CSI: Miami”
- NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” “Lipstick Jungle,” “The Office,” “Medium” and “Law and Order”
- FOX’s “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? ,” “House,” “Cops 2,” “AMW: America Fights Back” and “Cops”
- Every CW program including “America’s Next Top Model,” “One Tree Hill” and “Smallville”

-- Univision captured the #4 rank among Adults 18-34 (1.3 million) with the help of “Pasión” (Passion) for the Monday to Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time period.

-- While the most recent broadcasts of the Academy and Golden Globe awards saw significant audience declines ranging from –22% to -81%, Univision’s Thursday, February 21st telecast of the 20th Edition 2008 “Premio Lo Nuestro” Latin music awards realized increases in virtually every major demo. Reaching 12.3 million viewers 2+, the highest ever for any “Premio Lo Nuestro” telecast, it made Univision the #2 network for the entire night among Adults 18-34. Versus last year’s telecast, “Premio Lo Nuestro 2008” saw the following average audience gains:

- +11% among Adults 18-34
- +3% among Adults 18-49
- +6% among Adults 25-54
- +14% among Women 18-34
- +4% among Women 18-49
- +10% among Women 25-54
- +7% among Men 18-34
- +2% among Men 18-49

-- Univision’s live telecast of the U.S.A. versus Mexico soccer match on Wednesday, February 6th was seen in its entirety or in part by 9.2 million viewers and averaged nearly 5.1 million Total Viewers, beating ABC, CBS, NBC and CW for the entire night among Adults 18-34.

-- Univision’s broadcast of the Texas Democratic Presidential Debate on Thursday, February 21st (11:30pm ET/PT), averaged an audience of 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ and was seen in its entirety or in part by nearly 3.2 million Total Viewers and significantly outdelivered the average of the previous English-language debates broadcast thus far on ABC, CNBC, CNN, FOXNC, MSNBC and PBS among Adults 18-49 by +10% (890,000 versus 808,000).

-- Univision’s USA vs. Mexico International Friendly soccer match ranked as the #1 program in primetime among Houston Adults 18-34, beating ABC’s Academy Awards and Fox’s American Idol.
