ATTENTION NEW YORK: New Hispanic Newspaper Prints This Monday 4-20-09

In a time where many newspapers like The Miami Herald and The Boston Globe are reducing staff and legendary publications closing, Hispanic love the traditional press.

On Monday, April 20, former Hoy newspaper employees launch NY Al Día, to be sold at 1,800 points of sale in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey, a circulation of 20,000, 28 pages and a newsstand cost of 40 cents.

Hispanics love a good print forum, but as the industry moves online many have adapted to the new way of getting information, and NY Al Día will fill that local void.

Last year, Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, invested some 200 million into the NYTimes, making the mogul a major shareholder. ImPremedia, one of the country's top media companies of Latino newspapers and online site, closed many publications, but refocused by closing Hoy NY and just keeping its stronger title El Diario La Prensa.
