SAD NEWS: Legendary Salsa Promoter Ralph Mercado Passes Away


Many attribute the salsa scene in New York to legendary promoter Ralph Mercado, who passed away yesterday in the Big Apple. He was 67.

His contributions to salsa, mambo and merengue goes back to his managements and promoted of stars like Hector Lavoe, James Brown, Celia Cruz, and Tito Puente. READ MORE

Salsa King Willy Chirino visits Chile


Cuban salsa king Willy Chirino takes his Pa'lante tour to Santiago, Chile with a performance at the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center. Besides his concert, Willy also visited some of Chile's top rated TV shows and is returning for other performances in September.

After so many year absence from Chile, I feel like I returned home. I have received amazing love from the people of Chile and I feel super grateful with my visit. Finally Salsa music is becoming a favorite with the Chilean public. Chirino praises.
