Yes!!! Latin Grammy awards Vegas bound while Billboard Latin heads to Puerto Rico. Premios MTVLA?

The Latin Grammy's returns to Sin City, Las Vegas for the 2nd time after a very dismal show in 2008 in Houston. The show will take place on November 5th, 2009. We're excited about that!

Meanwhile the Billboard Latin awards head to Puerto Rico, in 2010. We would have to bet is because show producer Tony Mojena has pulled some strings and wants to give PR the spotlight. Recently Mojena, moved Telemundo's morning show Levantate, despite the dragging ratings. In anycase we're looking forward to covering the show in La Isla del Encanto because we just love the freakin place.

And finally we have the Premios MTV Latinoamerica, held in Mexico the last few years, with its weakest show last year in Guadalajara. Although not announced, we're putting our bets on Colombia. Could it really be?

Wherever any of these shows take place, count on Juanes showing up to pick his awards.

What to expect tonight at tonight's Latin Grammy's

Although many were agaisnt having the 9th Latin Grammy awards in Houston, the government incentives were just to lucrative for Univision and the Latin academy. Gloria Estefan will recieve a well deserved Lifetime Achievement award on the telecast. Last night she was honored by many stars like Luis Fonsi, Jon Secada and Carlos Santana singing her catalog. Gloria Estefan, aside from receiving her award at tonight's show, she will also perform with Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano.
Don't expect anything crazy couples or alot of gossip only great music. The best of the night has to be the much anticipated union of Juanes and John Legend with a special performance. Ocean's Eleven Andy Garcia adds star power to the show as well.
HL will have complete coverage with the winners with plenty of photos!!!! Check us out!!!

A well deserved tribute to Jose Jose!

(PHOTOS AVAILABLE at MHPIXS.com)
"As his Godmother in his career, I changed his name from Pepe Pepe to Jose Jose", legendary Cuban bolero queen Olga Guillot has always said about Jose Jose. Despite his many health issues and past drug abuse, the Latin Grammy's honored Jose Jose last night at the Bank United in Coral Gables. The show was recorded for a telecast in November. Among the celebrity friends that were present: Cristian Castro, who was the only celebrity not to come to the press room, Marco Antonio Solis, Ana Barbara, Cruz Martinez and Los Super Reyes (many ex MDO members), Alicia Villareal, Fonsi, Santa Rosa, Victor, and blah, blah, Zzzzzz.

Calle 13 loves his fans!!!

Calle 13 took home two Latin Grammy awards for Best Urban album and song, which they performed with Cuban rap trio, Orishas. Residente, who as late has been getting a little political and socially conscience, obliged to a fans request. Residente decided to give away his $200 pair of Addidas to a fan and ended up walking to the press room with just his socks. How cool is that!!!!

LATIN GRAMMY® awards nominations were announced this morning at Mansion nightclub on Miami Beach. Every presenter at this morning's ceremony was nominated one way or the other. Same circle of artist from last year were nominated including Daddy Yankee, Calle 13, rock band Kinky, newcomer Fanny Who's song No Te Pido Flores was also nominated. Love that song and to be fair, Fanny Lu has great promise. Mediocre singer Pablo Montero, Orishas, Mana, Juan Luis Guerra and so on and so on all are up for the coveted horn. Biggest surprise after being denied the recognition he deserves, Cuban exile superstar Willy Chirino gets nominated again for 35 Aniversario--En Vivo meanwhile another exile great Albita Rodriguez gets a nod for Live at the Colony Theater for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. Ricky Martin gets nominated for his MTV Unplugged. LATIN GRAMMY® awards will be held November 8, 2007 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Live on Univision, of course.
