Cameron Diaz wore an Oscar de la Renta gown and says the reasons she comes to the award show is "to see old friends and chat since everyone's so busy throughout the year".

LOVE BIRDS: Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem arrived to the OSCARS looking like king and queen of the ball. Penelope Cruz, who was nominated for supporting actress in Nine, wore Donna Karan gown and jewels by Chopard.

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith still going strong arrived to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards chatting up with fans, enjoying the show, and posing for anyone that asked for a photo. Great couple!!

WOW: Penelope Cruz wins the Oscar!!

Penelope Cruz wins the Oscar for best supporting actress award in her role as Maria Elena in Woody Allen's romantic comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and becoming the first Spanish-born actress to win the prestigious award.

"You have to keep climbing mountains. It's better not to listen or to engage in those debates," she said, adding that she is encouraged by how more open the entertainment industry is to people with accents. Penelope says with happiness, "It has been changing. We are all mixed together and that has to be reflected in cinema. I'm happy that finally that door seems to be more open and not just to me and three other people, but to a much bigger group,"
