The 8th Annual ‘El Premio de La Gente’ Joins Azteca America for the first time



Azteca América and El Premio, LLC present “Los Nominados de La Gente” a one-hour television special exclusively dedicated to previewing the 2007 nominated celebrities to “El Premio de La Gente,” the most important Latin music and sports awards show. Fans in the U.S. and Latin America will have an opportunity to choose their favorite music stars, athletes and teams via online voting at http://www.ElPremio.tv starting October 14th through November 14th 2007.
This year, due to popular demand, “El Premio de La Gente” has added seven sports categories alongside the seven music voting categories. Fans can vote for the most popular athletes and teams in soccer, basketball, boxing and baseball. The votes will decide the winner in each category.
Hosted by former MTV star and current E! Entertainment celebrity Daisy Fuentes, “Los Nominados de La Gente” show will closely examine each one of the categories for competition at this year’s “El Premio de La Gente”:
Television audiences will share the nominees’ excitement through exclusive interviews with special celebrity guests. Nominees include: Maná, Paulina Rubio, Alex Rodriguez, Shakira, Hugo Sanchez, José Feliciano, Marco Antonio Solis, Vladimir Guerrero and Calle 13, just to name a few.
“Los Nominados de La Gente” will broadcast nationwide on Azteca América on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 7 pm /6 pm central.

CANE...rebroadcast in spanish on Azteca America


The new CBS drama, CANE, is rebroadcast via 60 Azteca America affiliates in spanish. The show will be rebroadcast every Saturday on Secondary Audio Program (SAP) and solely sponsored by Chevy. "It's the first time for our network that a series produced for the general market in English is being made available on a massive scale to the U.S. Hispanic viewing audience," said Karen Davis, executive vice president of marketing for Azteca America told Marketing y Medios.
