Time to make money again...JLO makin' some moves!!!

After having her twins, Marc is back on the road performing and JLO is back with a new reality show for the TLC network. Russian media is also reporting that Jennifer Lopez will be performing at an awards show sponsored by the Russian television channel Muz TV. Of course the family that works together stays together. The whole family crew Marc, Jennifer, Emme, and Max along with a crew of 25 more people will accompany the famous family as well as a long list of demands. The couple will stay at the Ritz Carlton and has demanded black towels, light hue furniture, assortment of crepes and caviar. Nice...No Vodka?
This is not the first time JLO makes the big money for the Russian's. Jennifer Lopez was paid a staggering $3 million to perform a 40 minute set at the birthday party of a Russian billionaire's wife. Banker Andrei Melnichenko, 35, paid for Lopez to fly from Los Angeles to his Berkshire, England estate to sing at the 30th birthday of his spouse Aleksandra.

Telemundo Decides "Mas Vale" Off The Air Than On!

Telemundo hasn't officially released a statement, but "Mas Vale Tarde" has been CANCELLED!!! Our own source at the network tell us "It seems it might be cancelled, but nothing official on behalf of the network." Our source did not fail to plug other shows that are "doing better in the ratings like 12 Corazones". One online gossip site also announced this morning the sad or happy news? Who know's.
The fact is that "Late Night" talk shows on spanish language TV hasn't worked out. Paul Rodriguez had a show on Univision a few years ago and it bombed. Alex Cambert has tried to do this late night thing twice and bombed. Paul Bouche, a favorite in Miami TV stations was also lured away from the local Miami market to do a show in Telemundo a few years ago and bombed. He now has another talk show in Miami on GENTV, but is rumored to be heading to the can as well. The King of TV, Don Francisco always wanted to be the Johnny Carson of spanish television and after many failed attempts has his talk show on the Univision network. We also can't forget Argentinian talk show host Susana Gimenez that was also introduced to US national market, with no success.
Venezuela's Viviana, was also a staple on Univision and was later moved to the networks cable station, Galavision. Major stars like Veronica Castro and Lorena Herrera tried shows as well. We really thought that Cambert would be the Jimmy Kimmel of spanish TV, that no matter how bad you are, they would keep you on air. Telemundo has decided to stop the bleeding.
Late night shows for spanish TV should be local, not national. It seems to work out better.

Latin Teen Sensation TYNA Q Set to Release Debut Single 'Without You'

Latin Teen sensation TYNA Q is releasing her debut double single "Without You" and "Sin Ti" (English and Spanish versions) simultaneously on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, worldwide through digital distribution. "Without You"/ "Sin Ti" are the original works of TYNA Q, a 14-year old home-schooled Alpharetta, Georgia-raised teenager who has performed to rave reviews in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York City. In support of the double single release, TYNA Q will spend most of May and June appearing on television shows and visiting radio stations across the country. TYNA Q will also be performing live in several high profile events in New York and Los Angeles, some of which include the 116th Street Festival in June, which draws over half a million people each year to celebrate and kick off the Puerto Rican Day Parade activities. Other events include Fiesta Broadway in Los Angeles and Carnaval Del Barrio in New York City.
Music executives have already compared TYNA Q to platinum selling artists Miley Cyrus and a younger Christina Aguilera. "I have been approached by a couple of major labels who want to sign Tyna; however, I am being very careful in choosing the right label for us. We will continue to take meetings until the right label offers a fair deal," says Yolanda Chavez, TYNA Q's manager. Until recently Tyna Q was based in Alpharetta, Georgia, but has since moved to Los Angeles, California, where she has secured a talent agent and is currently auditioning for several television and film casting directors. "Singing is her first love. However, Tyna also likes to act, so she is happy to be auditioning for film and TV. She is a very gifted teenager who is already living her dream," says her manager.
"Without You"/ "Sin Ti" will be dedicated to Tyna Q's grandmother, who passed away a couple of months ago.

World-Renowned Designer Custo Barcelona Enters the World of Interiors with Mexico's Capricho Residences

CUSTO BARCELONA, the international design house famous for dressing the likes of Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Beyonce, Shakira, Penelope Cruz and Taye Diggs has announced their entrance into the interior design industry with the upscale resort CAPRICHO RESIDENCES on the Mexican Caribbean. Custo's unique vision of mixing exquisite color with distinctive patterns will add a distinguishing aesthetic to this sophisticated property located on Playa Mujeres Resort. "Custo Barcelona is a chic, unique luxury brand perfectly paired with Capricho -- a chic, unique, luxury resort," says designer Custo Dalmau.

Custo Barcelona began their foray into fashion with elaborate one of a kind graphic T-shirts over 25 years ago. Today the brand has evolved into a global fashion statement sold in 35 countries with 42 company-owned stores and carried in over 3,000 retail stores around the world. Since its inception, the European company has branched out into a complete ready-to-wear collection for men and women, accessories, including handbags, sunglasses, footwear and a fragrance. Limited edition designs by Custo Barcelona include Perrier bottles and can, a customized Hummer, Motorola phone, and even a custom regatta sail for an Estrella Damm sailboat. Now for the first time, CUSTO BARCELONA will apply their creative thinking in a residential setting at one of the most talked-about projects in Mexico. "We've been working for the past five months on the interior of this beautiful property, located between a small lagoon of mangroves and the ocean," explains Custo Dalmau. "We have begun to capture a graphic concept using different kinds of indigenous wood."

Custo Barcelona's affiliation at Capricho will be apparent immediately upon arrival, when guests are greeted at the Cancun International airport in a Capricho by CUSTO car. As guests proceed to the property's main pool (residential groupings have their own private pools), they will stroll along "Barcelona-style" CUSTO floor design. The property's Beach Club will feature Custo elements such as an original mural at the entrance, CUSTO pool umbrellas, and a private Dining Room with textiles and interiors fashioned by the designer. All CUSTO murals within the property will be interpreted using natural elements such as stone, marble, woods and glass; paralleling the nature-inspired philosophy of Capricho. The spa at Capricho will feature a "dreamlike" circular mural by CUSTO on the ceiling of the indoor pool, exclusive design elements in the treatments rooms, and eco-friendly CUSTO Barcelona signature uniforms for the employees.

Custo Barcelona's greatest impact at Capricho will be in the property's 16-room Boutique Hotel and Restaurant. The designer will create six murals for the lobby as well as vibrant textiles and pillows for the sofas, carpets, and chairs. Four rooms in the hotel will be fully conceptualized by CUSTO; from the design of the bedding and various art works throughout the suites to bathroom amenities, CUSTO robes, and furniture pieces. All Custo elements will utilize eco-friendly materials. The boutique-hotel's restaurant will feature murals, textiles, and distinct table cloths for each meal, all designed by Custo Barcelona. Possibly the most important element of the Custo-Capricho affiliation will be an opportunity for owners at Capricho to choose a unique Custo interior package for their residences; making their unit a true designer home.

The partnership between one of the most individual and respected designers in the world, and one of the most unique and anticipated projects in Mexico has already created much excitement; Custo Dalmau will be making a special appearance later this month to unveil the CAPRICHO lounge at Conde Nast Traveler's annual Hot List Party -- one of the industry's most
highly-anticipated events of the year!

Happy Birthday America...Ugly Betty star turns 24!!!

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera turns 24 today. Yesterday the Latina actress visited Ellen, where she talked about all the free time she had during the writer’s strike. “I had all this time on my hands and watched alot of political shows on TV and that’s why I’m supporting Hillary Clinton for President.” Ellen jokingly also told America that she is a big star now and that she can’t be putting ads on Craigslist , “I was moving and I put my sofa up for sale and someone that came to my house to look at the sofa said ‘you look like Ugly Betty’.” America just responded as “yes my sister is, I’m Jennifer”.
Ellen not only offered to sale her used furniture on the show, buy gave her a custom, reversable poncho with the show’s logo as a gift. Nice!!!!

MTV LATIN AMERICA BRINGS “MTV TEEN AGE CLICKS” TO THE ART WORLD

(PHOTOS BY MANNY HERNANDEZ AT MHPIXS.com. CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE)

INNOVATIVE ART EXHIBIT REFLECTS THE NETWORK’S RESEARCH INSIGHTS & FINDINGS ON YOUTH CULTURE IN LATIN AMERICA

“MTV TEEN AGE CLICKS” to travel through Miami, Mexico, Argentina and São Paulo

On April 4th, MTV Latin America premiered a unique and innovative art exhibit titled “MTV Teen Age Clicks,” at the Richard Shack Gallery at the ArtCenter/South Florida, Lincoln Road, in Miami Beach. “MTV Teen Age Clicks” is reflecting MTV’s research findings and insights on youth culture.
Designed as a way to share MTV Networks’ research findings with the public, “MTV Teen Age Clicks” was first conceived by MTV Europe and has proven to be a huge success in London. The latest “MTV Teen Age Clicks” exhibit will use MTV Latin America’s research insights and findings and will travel through Miami in April; Mexico City at FEMACO (Feria México Arte Contemporáneo) from April 23rd- 27th; Buenos Aires at ArteBA (Arte Buenos Aires) from May 28th through June 2nd and São Paulo (venue and date to be announced shortly). At each exhibit, local artists will enliven the atmosphere with their own personal touch. Anyone interested in understanding today’s youth culture should attend this exhibit.
In an effort to further understand the diversity of kids and young people throughout the world, MTV Networks International spoke to 24,000 teens in more than 20 countries via different research methodologies. Young people were surveyed in Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Sweden, the UK and the USA. “MTV’s Teen Age Clicks” exhibit is a visual recap and interpretation of MTV Latin America’s findings and will showcase a developing world where young people are optimistic and hopeful despite facing great challenges.

Contrary to what adults may believe, young people today are conservative, smart, influential, image conscious, immersed in technology, surrounded by music, stressed to be cool, connected to one another like never before and yet face many hurdles.

“We met and spoke with an amazing set of young people in conducting this research and we felt inspired by their natural creativity and exuberance for life,” said Noel Gladstone, Vice President of Research for MTV Networks Latin America. “As experts in television and entertainment, we have an ongoing interest in better understanding youth’s core concerns and perspectives on the world and this exhibit is a true reflection of that.”

MTV Latin America is working with Miami based independent curator Mariangela Capuzzo, to select local contemporary artists, senior BFA candidates of the New World School of the Arts of Miami, Florida, to help express MTV’s research findings.

Subject matters and participating artists will include:

Stressed for success: Addresses the intense pressure which young people experience concerning morality, their future and having to take responsibility for their successes and/or failures.

Fear Factor: Young people’s fears about crime, kidnapping, jobs, education and a general distrust in the government and the police; it turns out that what they really want for Christmas is a good job!

Teenage bedroom: Their safe haven, but also a place where they feel connected to the world.

Sex: Young people’s premature exposure to all things sexual. Today, thanks to the web, most 12-year olds have seen more illicit material online than an older generation did in a lifetime.

Brand Me: Young people have evolved from being just marketing savvy to being active marketers themselves, being always on display like never before.
Communication Explosion: Technology has enabled young people to have closer friendships and more friends than ever before, courtesy of constant connectivity via instant messaging, e-mail, cell phones and SMS. This digital communication complements television, but does not substitute it, as television is still very much a part of young people’s digital conversations.
Following is the list of the selected artists, subjects and mediums.
1. My World: Farhana Hoque (Installation)
2. Well-being: Juan Camilo Rojas (Installation)
3. Stressed for Success: Victor Vázquez & Jordan Service (Painting / Multimedia)
4. Fear Factor: Patricia Hernández (Video)
5. Teenage Bedroom: Monica de Miguel (Installation / Multimedia)
6. Teenage Toilet / Sex: Samantha Kocking (Painting), Sophia Londono
(Sculpture / Photography), Monica de Miguel (Installation)
7. Needs: Lisa Torske (Painting / Collage)
8. Brand "Me": Kelly Williams (Installation / Collage)
9. Communication Explosion: Kelly Williams (Installation / Sculpture)
10. Music: Patricia Hernández (Video)
11. MTV Logo: Farhana Hoque, Michelle Mancriffe (Sculpture / Installation)

Rivera is an award-winning journalist and the author of seven books, including the recently released His Panic: Why Americans Fear Hispanics In the U.S., which examines the growth of the Hispanic population in the U.S. He began his career at WABC-TV in New York, gaining an early reputation for investigative reporting with a series on conditions at the Willowbrook State School for the mentally ill that led to a government investigation of the institution. He is also an experienced foreign correspondent, having covered stories from countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Kosovo, Chile, the Philippines and Colombia. At home, Rivera has been on the front lines of such high-profile stories as the O.J. Simpson trial, the Michael Jackson trial and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Earlier in his career, Rivera was an original cast member of ABC's Good Morning America and spent eight years as an investigative reporter for ABC News' 20/20. (PHOTO BY LUCY MORENO FOR MHPIXS.com)
After all these year Chayanne is not only a mega latin superstar, but one of the nicest. He poses for photos, signs autographs, not pretencious and his radient smile.
Chayanne's performance at Billboard Latin awards was probably the best part of this year's show. The boricua star found time from his busy schedule to present memoriabilia to the Hard Rock Cafe that will hang along with items of Carlos Santana, The Beatles, and Madonna.

Maite from the group did even show up, the band did not perform and right after the show, only 3 members did post media interview, while Christian and Anahi were no where in sight. For years celebrities have proudly worn the Heineken Green Ribbon(R) to show their support of Latin music during the Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards. ASCAP LATIN MUSIC AWARDS CELEBRATES ITS 16th EDITION

VICTOR MANUELLE HONORED WITH ASCAP'S GOLDEN NOTE AWARD BLACK GUAYABA WILL BE PRESENTED ASCAP'S VANGUARD AWARD

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will honor Victor Manuelle and Black Guayaba at its 16th Annual Latin Music Awards on May 16, 2008 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Miami Beach. The black tie gala will also honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed songs in Latin Music of 2007.

Victor Manuelle will be honored with the ASCAP Golden Note Award, which is presented to songwriters, composers, and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones, and Black Guayaba will receive the ASCAP Vanguard Award in recognition of their impact, as new and developing musical artists, on shaping the future of their musical genre and the future of music.

Victor Manuelle has amassed significant achievements as a singer and songwriter and continues to be a familiar voice to Latin Music fans ever since his first album was released in 1993. Since then, he has produced chart-toping albums with substantial radio hits every single year. In March 2004, his album Travesía, produced by Emilio Esfefan, went to #1 on the Latin Billboard charts. In 2005, he released two live albums: Victor Manuelle En Vivo Desde El Carnegie Hall, recorded at Carnegie Hall, and Dos Soneros…Una Historia (Two Soneros…One Story), from his historical collaboration with Gilberto Santarosa, recorded live at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Puerto Rico.
